Easter Retreat: Beyond Duality - The True Meaning of Redemption
With Swami SatyaDaya and Tulsi
March 24 - 29, 2027
Easter is a time rich in symbolism, reflecting both the natural rhythms of the season and the deeper spiritual path. The 3-day cycle of the life of Jesus at this time offers a particularly rich metaphor describing the inner process each of us must undertake to awaken to a deeper realization of who and what we are.
At the center of this symbolism stands the cross—a meeting place of all opposites where duality ends. It points to a realization that the whole of life, all of it, is, and always has been, the play of the One. And here we find the true meeting of redemption – through the opening of our hearts and minds to meeting the whole of life, this play of life is redeemed. It is met in its wholeness. No promise is made that the world will behave in the ways we want or conform to our expectations. Rather, it points toward how our hearts and minds can open to meeting all of life in all the different ways that it arises.
This resolution of duality directly mirrors key principles in the yogic tradition:
- Agya Chakra: Where the Ida and Pingala nadis meet and no longer diverge, helping us see beyond opposing dualities—such as good/bad or love/hate—and perceive life as an unbroken whole.
- Anahata Chakra: Represented by the meeting of ascending and descending triangles, symbolizing the marriage of our full human experience with our fundamental spiritual identity—the recognition that they are ‘not two’.
What to Expect The key focus of our retreat is using meditation to open us to the deep stillness and spaciousness within our being. Through these practices, we cultivate the tenderness of heart needed to meet our own suffering, and all suffering, with compassion and kind attention.
Together, we open to the possibility of experiencing “the peace that passeth all understanding”—the realization of our essential identity.
This course will suit those wishing to go deeper in their understanding and sincere practice.
Practices Included
Alongside meditation, our daily rhythm will include:
- Hatha Yoga
- Yoga Nidra
- Satsang
- Chanting & Kirtan
